Gardening
Tips
To create a garden that looks beautiful
year-round, changing your maintenance routine along with
the changing seasons is essential. Here are some general
gardening tips that can be applied throughout all the
growing seasons:

|
- Evaluating all the zones of your
irrigation system- we recommend that you
complete an assessment each season
- Adjust and clean your sprinkler heads to
allow for maximum coverage
- Re-program your irrigation timer-
increasing your watering during the warm
months, and decreasing (or shutting off
completely) during the cold, wet months
- Aerating your lawn will open up the soil,
permitting more nutrients and water to be
absorbed- we recommend aerating your lawn once
a year
- Fertilize your lawn and all of your
vegetation regularly- you should consult your
garden specialist first, and always follow the
manufacturers’ instructions on each brand
and variety of fertilizer(s) to be used
- Trim all of your trees, plants and
shrubs, in addition to deadheading the flowers
in your yard to encourage new plant growth
- Apply a pre-emergent to control crab
grass and unsightly weeds before they begin to
grow- you should consult your garden
specialist first, and always follow the
manufacturers’ instructions on each brand
and variety of herbicide(s) to be used - NOT
RECOMMENDED FOR VEGETABLE GARDENS
